Sky adds multiple features to Sky Glass and Sky Stream, including one-button ad skipping

The Sky Entertainment OS, which runs on Sky Glass and Sky Stream, has been significantly improved this year with a number of features added, from Live Sync on Sky Sports to the ability to fast forward or rewind using your voice. The company pushed out the Entertainment OS 1.2 update in May (Live Sync on Sky Sports arrived a little later) which brought several new tricks, and now another update has appeared in Entertainment OS 1.3, just in time for Christmas.

The latest update not only brings support for Apple AirPlay, allowing you to stream videos, photos, music, and more from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, but it has also improved the Skip Ads feature. You’ll now be able to skip through ads faster with a new skip ad button that lets you skip through them with a single click.

A next episode button was also introduced with the update, although there’s also a countdown timer that will do this automatically if you don’t want to lift a finger, just like what Netflix offers.

The update also includes a feature that was announced in May, but has not been available until now, to be able to add actors and actresses to your Sky playlist. To do this, press the “+” on your remote control when you’re watching through the UI, and the actor or actress will appear in the “People” section of your playlist, where you can tap them to view them. the biggest TV shows and movies in which they appear.

On the topic of playlist, you can also customize your playlist with a variety of characters and TV stars, such as Jamie Redknapp from A League of Their Own and Nicolas Galitzine from Mary & George after this update, and also There are new avatars for children. including Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig.

Favorite channels can also be added to your home screen on Sky Glass and Sky Stream and you can assign each their own number on your remote control for quick access to them. Last but not least, Amazon Music has also been updated on Sky Glass and Sky Stream to offer HD audio. It can be accessed through the Amazon Music app, but you will need to be an Amazon Music Unlimited subscriber.

The latest Entertainment OS update is rolling out to Sky Glass and Sky Stream today and should happen without you having to do anything. One thing to mention though is that the Skip Ads feature requires a £5 a month subscription. However, it will allow you to fast-forward ads on the ITVX, STV Player and All4 TV apps, which will certainly come in handy.
