Apple updated almost its entire iPad lineup this year, except for entry-level models. The entry-level model hasn’t been updated since 2022. But it looks like the company is finally working on an updated version of its entry-level iPad. Sources believe the iPad 11 will be released in early 2025.

iPad 11 will be available in the next few months

On Monday, an anonymous X profile with a good track record revealed that Apple plans to launch the iPad 11 early next year, coinciding with the general availability of iPadOS 18.3. Sources say the device will be launched with new software pre-installed.

The first beta version of iPadOS 18.3 was released to developers last week, without any notable new features aside from preparing support for robot vacuum cleaners in the Home app. It’s very likely that Apple is working behind the scenes on adding support for the new iPad 11 to iPadOS 18.3.

iOS and iPadOS “.3” updates are typically released in late January. Previously, bloomberg’s Mark Garman has indicated that Apple plans to introduce the iPad 11 in the spring of 2025, starting in March. This will give us a more accurate timeline of when the new entry-level iPad will be released.

The leaker also confirmed reports that the new iPad 11 will feature Apple’s first wireless modem to handle Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity.

Interestingly, he also revealed that Apple is working on an iPad with the same A14 chip as the current iPad 10. 9to5 mac We also heard from independent sources. The leaker currently states that this iPad is only a prototype to test a new modem. The final product is expected to have a faster chip (likely the A17 Pro, the same as the iPad mini) to work with Apple Intelligence.

Apple currently sells the iPad 10 for $349. You can get it for as low as $279 on Amazon, but for now, we recommend waiting for the new iPad 11.

The company is also rumored to announce a new iPhone SE and updated iPad Air in spring 2025, which are expected to be announced together at a special event or in a series of videos.
