It’s official, but not official yet
First off: Apple TV+ has not yet officially announced the return of Ted Lasso.
That said, there was a wealth of evidence that the show was definitely making a comeback for season four. Cast contract renewals from teasing by executives, series star and co-creator Bill Lawrence, and production is officially scheduled for.
So, when you ask someone from Apple, they haven’t confirmed Ted Lasso’s return yet. But the new season is definitely ongoing.
Returning the cast members of season 4
Early reports show that the majority of the Ted Lasso cast is expected to return to Season 4. This is great news as the show’s ensemble is one of its biggest strengths.
One possible exception is Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt. Dunster reportedly ran into scheduling issues while trying to participate in the new season, although guest appearances are not out of the question.
Jason Sudekis may be reducing his role
The man behind the mustache, Jason Sudeikis, may not have a huge presence in Ted Lasso’s new season.

There will be many, many returning cast members. However, Sudeikis is minimized in the show.
Overall, it’s probably not as much as before. This is not entirely surprising as Lasso has already returned a bit in Season 3, as the strong ensemble was given more time.
Season 4 introduces AFC Richmond’s first women’s team
According to a report by Judge Sigmund, one of the main story threads for the new season is the formation of the women’s team at AFC Richmond.
The boys team still seems like a big part of the show, but Richmond is looking to expand its offering by adding a women’s team for the first time.
Time to Expect Season 4 on Apple TV+
Originally, production of Ted Lasso Season 4 was expected to begin earlier this year. It didn’t happen, and now the latest report of the spring pegs production start.
That said, there are still many unknowns that make it difficult to identify an interim Apple TV+ debut date.
It seems unlikely that a new Lasso episode will arrive in 2025. However, assuming they’re coming out of this year, season 4 should arrive in at least 2026.
