Watch: Texas Man Credits Apple Watch for Helping to Save Life After A Scary Heart Health
Hartmance may be coming to an end, but the Apple Watch continues to save lives.
The latest story comes from Austin, Texas. Mike Gomez believes the Apple Watch helped save a life after receiving many irregular heart rate notifications and AFIB detection alerts.
Gomez took action based on feedback from the Apple Watch, and was informed enough to make a decision to seek medical assistance at the hospital. These early signs of heart health problems may be preventing Gomez from experiencing a stroke.
Take a look at his story below:
The Apple Watch allows you to monitor your heart rate in the background while wearing it. If your heart rate rises or drops, a heart rate notification will alert you and can bring it to your attention.
Apple Watch Series 4 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra 1 and later, subsequent ECG apps include ECG apps for taking ECGs. Both Apple Watch SE models support heart rate notifications, but do not have ECG.
The latest version of Apple Watch Software, Watchos 11 supports Apple Watch Series 6 and above, Apple Watch Ultra 1 and above, and second generation Apple Watch SE.
