Shop E Store Sonos announced the ARC Ultra sound bar in October, happening to the arch but not replace it. It is located at the top of the company’s sound bar portfolio and is the most expensive speaker it offers, but there is a good reason for that: it is excellent based on what we find in our ARC Ultra review.
However, there are a couple of characteristics and configurations that are a bit hidden, including the adjustment of speech improvement levels.
With that in mind, if you want to make sure that you are taking full advantage of your sound bar and access to all the characteristics, here are our 9 main tricks for the Sonos Arc Ultra.

Use Trueplay Tuning
Sonos presented TruePlay in 2015, offering a simple way to adjust speakers and sound bars of Sonos to a room with an iPhone or iPad.
When the company introduced the Age 100 and the Era 300 in 2023, it announced a fast adjustment, which uses microphones within certain sound speakers to make the adjustment, instead of requiring an iPhone or iPad.
The Sonos Arc Ultra supports a fast adjustment, but we really recommend that you take the iPhone or iPad of a partner and do the advanced adjustment method. Just take a couple of minutes and adapt your ultra arch to any room you have put to make sure you get the best sound performance.
Open the Sonos application> Touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room in the room that is your ultra arc. TruePlay adjustment should be a warning within this configuration if it did not do so during the configuration process.
Connect a Sub Sonos and Rodeos
The Arc Ultra is an excellent single -box sound bar, but if you really want your living room or media room to give you something, add a Sonos submarine. The latest is the Sonos Sub 4, which has a lovely matt finish, but could opt for an older sonos submarine if you can find them cheaper.
It is also worth adding a pair of rear surroundings if you want the best experience, although this, of course, becomes expensive. However, a couple of Era will do a solid job, or if you want the best experience you have to offer, you will want a couple of 300.
Once your submarine is configured in the Sonos application, open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch your room ultra is. From here, there must be an option that requests you to ‘connect sub’ or ‘configure the surroundings’.
Add voice assistants
The Sonos Arc Ultra does not offer Google assistant support, but it does have Amazon Alexa support and also offers Sonos voice control.
Sonos voice control is good to control the Ultra arch itself, while Alexa means that he can ask his arch ultra anything, from trivia questions and weather reports, to controlling smartphone devices compatible with Alexa.
To configure the voice control of Alexa and Sonos in the Sonos Arc Ultra, open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room where your ultra arch is located and move down until you see the option ‘Add a voice assistant’.
Touch that and follow the instructions for the voice control of Sonos or Alexa, or both.
Take your ultra arc quickly in a sonos group
This is a classic sonos trick that not only works in the Ultra arch, but in all the Sonos speakers. Keep the Play/Pause button on the Ultra Arch and attract your sound bar to an existing Sonos group.

Adjust speech improvement levels
For other sound bars, speech improvement is a single configuration that turns on or disable and that is all. Open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room where your ultra arch is located and move down until you reach the home film section. You will see the improvement of speech here, touch and choose between low, medium and high.

Light the sound of the night to keep the neighbors happy
Night Sound is another feature that you can turn on or off in all sounds of sound of Sonos, not only in the ultra arch, but it is good to know. It reduces the intensity of strong sounds and increases the level of quieter sounds to clarify the dialogue without increasing the volume.
It means that if you are watching a movie late at night when the little ones are asleep up, for example, you reduce the possibility of disturbances of a sudden action scene.

Light TV Autoplay
It is worth activating TV Autoplay if you use your Arc Ultra for music when you don’t watch television. With this function on, the audio will automatically change to the TV audio when you turn on your TV, even if another music is reproduced.
To activate automatic TV playback, or turn off, if you don’t want that to happen, open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room where your ultra arc is located and move down until you reach the home film section. Alternate or deactivate automatic TV reproduction, depending on your preference.
Change the EQ configuration
We all have different preferences when it comes to sound and if you know what yours and the Sonos Arc Ultra are not reaching the brand for you, then you can adjust the EQ configuration to see if you can find your sweet point.
Open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room in which its ultra arch is located and look for the equation. Touch that and move the sliding controls to what you think is suitable for you. You can change the bass, the acute and alternate or deactivate the volume.
Exchange height Audio
The ARC Ultra admits Dolby Atmos and Space Audio, using a combination of speakers and virtual processing of intelligent places to create a more immersive experience. You can adjust the height channel in the Ultra ARC during the reproduction of immersive audio formats if you want more or less height.
Open the Sonos application and touch the configuration gear in the upper right corner> Touch in the room in which its ultra arc is located and move down on the list until you see the height audio. Touch and move the sliding control where you think is more appropriate for your preference.
