Strong growth in MAC shipping

Canalys reports that US MAC shipments in the fourth quarter of last year increased by 25.9% year-on-year, up 25.9% over PC manufacturers. This has increased Apple’s (non-table) computer marker share from 14.4% to 17.1%.

Acer and Lenovo also saw growth, but levels went down. Acer saw a 20% growth, while Lenovo saw a 11.8% increase in shipments.

In particular, both HP and Dell market leaders have seen a decline in total market share below 50%. HP shipments fell by 3.6%, while Dell fell by 2.4%.
