Resideo has officially announced the new Smart Smart Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm by First Alert, which works within the Google Home application and is compatible with Nest Protect devices.

And that is good news if you are monitoring your home with Nest Protects, which, of course, have limited lives, because Google has revealed that you are no longer doing.

Google has published a blog that indicates that it is no longer manufacturing new Nest Protect Smoke & CO alarms, but existing devices “will continue to receive security updates and continue working as they have always done through their expiration dates.”

For those who have already invested in Nest Protect, the new Smart Smoke & Co First Alert alarm resembles the prefect solution if you need to add more or replace devices.

The alarm of two in one can connect to the Nest Protect units, which means that if an alarm sounds, all the compatible alarms will sound, whether it is at home or outside. Presumably, they use Google’s fabric technology, which is essentially a rebadged thread to connect with each other.

You can also silence alarms and obtain critical safety alerts both on the first alert and in Google Home applications, which facilitates home security management from anywhere.

The new first alert alarm has the brand’s precision detection sensors, to take into account the modern designs of the home where open spaces and synthetic materials can cause the fires to extend faster and burn more.

The alarm also provides voice alerts that indicate what and where the problem is, and smartphone notifications keep it informed when it is out and even non -intelligent alert alarms can activate alerts through the application.

The first alert alarm Smart Smoke & CO will be available on both the battery and in the wired versions in the coming months, which costs $ 129.99, which is $ 20 less than the full price of Nest Protect.

Google also announced that nest X Yale’s smart locks is not making intelligent locks, but he has assured us that he is still in the hardware game with “more useful domestic devices in the coming months” expected.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
