The Homey Energy Dongle, which was announced at the end of last year along with a new set of software characteristics, is now sending.

With a price of € 39, the energy dongle can provide European users in real time about the energy consumption of their home.

And in Europe, I mean Europe. The tastes of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary can be involved since their smart meters have the P1 port necessary for the Dongle.

In the United Kingdom, the Energy Dongle will not work, but the Home Energy Platform works with several readers of optical energy meters of Friend, Aotec and Emporia tastes.

However, it supports the energy dongle and is a device compatible with P1 that connects directly to the intelligent meter of a house, transmitting live electricity, gas and even the use of water (where it is admitted) to the house or a home cloud platform honored.

The Dongle consolidates data from energy meters, smart plugs, solar investors and other energy monitoring devices.

The launch of the Dongle of Home Energy coincides with the deployment of the improved energy monitoring functionality of HOMEY, which provides users with a complete general vision of their energy flows in a clean and easy to read interface.

The Energy tab admits a variety of third-party monitoring devices, but home energy dongle is the simplest plug-And-play solution for houses with an intelligent P1 meter.

Once you have plugged it, you can enter the prices of your energy contract in the home application to see cost ideas along with the KWH use values. Cost ideas are available for daily, weekly and monthly descriptions and dynamic prices will be compatible shortly after launch.

Beyond just tracking energy use, Homey allows users to automate their energy consumption using home flow and advanced flow.

For example, users can establish their EV to load when electricity prices are out of peak or turn off high energy appliances during maximum price periods.

The Dongle connects through Wi-Fi and includes a built-in P1 divisor, which means that users can still connect an additional device, such as an EV loader loading balancer, without requiring additional adapters.

Most of the newest intelligent meters provide enough energy to run the dongle directly, but a USB-A USB-C cable is included for meters that require external energy.

It connects locally to Homey Pro or through the cloud to the free and premium levels of the home.

Homey Energy Dongle is sent today and is available for € 39; To order visit the Homey website.

Athom, the Dutch brand behind Homey, was acquired by LG last year, which has plans to integrate Homey software into its Thinq platform.

However, LG assures us that Homey will continue to be independent, continuing according to advanced users and smart household enthusiasts, just like Samsung has done it with smartthings.

The growing Homey Smart Home ecosystem, driven by the integrations promoted by the community and the support of LG, makes it a convincing contender to administer devices connected to an environment focused on privacy and locally controlled.
