
How to Close Apple Watch Ring Help Your Sleep, Heart Health, and Mental Health
Ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch on April 24th, Apple today posts new research data highlighting the link between activity ring closure and sleep, heart health and mental health. The data comes from data contributed by over 140,000 participants in the Apple Heart and Movement Study…
Based on the data, Apple says that in most cases people who closed their rings, compared to people who closed their activity rings, in most cases people who closed their rings:
- 48% less likely to experience poor sleep quality, defined as waking up frequently in the middle of the night
- 73% less likely to experience an increased heart rate at rest
- They are 57% less likely to report an increase in stress, as measured by the Perceived Stress Scale 4 (PSS-4), a four-item questionnaire designed to assess individuals’ perceptions of stress levels.
The Apple Watch is celebrating its 10th anniversary later this month, originally released on April 24, 2015. It was announced at a special Apple event on September 9th, 2014.
In addition to sharing this new study, Apple also announced a special fitness challenge for April 24th. Separately, the Apple Store location will have physical pins to commemorate a decade of Apple Watch that promotes exercise and fitness tracking.
