LumaFusion 5.0 brings speed ramping and extended keyframes to iPhone and iPad
Lumatouch has released version 5.0 of LumaFusion, the award-winning mobile editing platform. For over five years as an iPad enthusiast and LumaFusion user, I couldn’t be more excited about this update. Use your iPad or iPhone as your main device to show you powerful new tools for creators and editors.
I’ve been using the beta version of LumaFusion 5.0 for a few weeks and I love the new features. It’s very stable even when running iPados 18.1 beta. This post is not a review of Lemafjong, but a lot of publications. Stay tuned for more detailed reviews in the coming days. Be sure to check out Lumatouch’s own video below.
Important features with LumaFusion 5.0
The latest update brings some important enhancements, focusing on improving the editing experience on mobile touchscreens.
- Speed ramping:
- Adjusts the clip speed with keyframe accuracy.
- Easy to create smooth speed transitions and dynamic effects.
- Access new speed presets for instant results.
- Use the Bézier Curve Path Editor for Advanced Motion Control.
- Extended keyframes:
- Disables size, position and rotation controls for more detailed animation.
- Use the press and hold drag or nudge buttons to easily move keyframes.
- Maximize your keyframe potential by leveraging new motion presets.
- Visualize and fine-tune animations with speed and easy graphs.
Finally, I’ll talk about pricing, but I wanted to make it clear that these two features require in-app purchases. The following features I mention are included in the free 5.0 update!

Free features in LumaFusion 5.0
In addition to paid upgrades, LumaFusion 5.0 also includes a variety of free new features that enhance your overall editing experience.
- UI improvements:
- Adjustable UI for the Effect Editor for customizable workspace layouts.
- Toggle preview to the right of the Clip Editor for better workflow.
- New creative tools:
- Adds grids, title/action safe areas, and field of view to the preview.
- Explore dozens of new migrations to add diversity to your editing.
- Improved resources:
- The improved What’s Happens panel provides easy access to the latest tutorials, updates and information on Lumafusion.
What I like about Lumatouch is that they remain true to their roots. They aim to create a professional-level editing experience with a touch-first interface, and this 5.0 update continues its mantra. The M4 iPad Pro is available on trackpads and keyboards, but new features will be created for the touch-first interface. The development team invested heavily in ensuring these tools work seamlessly on the touchscreen, providing a fluid, intuitive experience that allows advanced editing to be accessed on mobile devices.
Don’t trade with creators
In a market that is increasingly driven by AI, Lumatouch is taking a careful approach by integrating only ethically sourced on-vise capabilities that aid in non-creative tasks. This philosophy ensures that creative processes are in the hands of the users, empowering storytellers rather than exchanging them.
Lumatouch co-founder Terri Morgan went to YouTube to share Lumatouch’s position with Creative Space’s AI through his editing and storytelling skills. You can view the latest episodes of Curious editor here.
Pricing and availability
- LumaFusion 5.0 is available as a free update for existing users.
- For new users, LumaFusion is available for $29.99 on the App Store, Google Play Store, and Samsung Galaxy Store for Chromeos and Android devices.
- The new expanded keyframe and speed ranking feature is available as a one-time in-app purchase for $19.99.
Again, these are one-time purchases and will continue to improve over time. I paid for LumaFusion in 2018. Now, six years later, I have not spent any more penny since the first day. I love that they aren’t subscription-based.
If you are a mobile editor or iPad user, I highly recommend LumaFusion. The best professional level iPad video editor on the market.
