Sonos is in the offensive, defending the growing wave of smart speakers competing for our living rooms, rooms and kitchens. But Sonos remains an audio leader at home, offering some of the speakers that sounds better in the game, and a large configuration of multiple speakers; And there are many corners and cracks to explore.
Next, we have gathered some excellent tips and tricks of Sonos (and secrets) to dominate their Sonos speakers, from the smart speaker of Sonos 100 to the Movement of Sonos 2 and each speaker of Sonos in the middle.
Learn these and you will be an unstoppable force of the power of multiple rooms. If you have downloaded the new update of the Sonos application and needs some additional tips, we have a separate function specifically aimed at the new application and its peculiarities.
Take the time for thueplay
Apple iOS users have an unfair advantage over those who worship on the Android altar. The Sonos Trueplay function is only available for Apple cohort and allows users to calibrate their rooms to the room, although the new era 100 and Sonos was 300 have a slimmed version of TruePlay for Android users.
Trueplay uses the microphone on the iPhone or iPad to test how the sound bounces on the walls, furniture and other objects, adjusting the acoustic production of the speaker so that it is improving the best that can depend on where it is. Sonos will suggest that you do this during the configuration and recommend that you do it.

If you did not configure this initially, go to the Sonos application, select the COG configuration In the upper right corner, choose the speaker you want to tune in. TruePlay touch from the list of options for that speaker. You will have to do each speaker individually.
The good news is that some of the newest speakers in Sonos, such as Era 100 contribute an additional advantage to technology with a quick melody, giving the option of using the microphones incorporated into the speaker to do the tuning instead of demanding android users to take an iOS device borrowed. It is not as advanced as using microphones on an iOS device, but will help a bit if you can’t get access to an iOS device.
Cut all cables (if you can’t, get an impulse)
It used to have a bridge are connected to its router, to which the rest of its speakers would connect wirelessly. But these days everything can be connected directly to the Wi-Fi, it is not necessary to get entangled in the cables.
That said, if your home is a little less modest than the majority, or simply has a poor Wi-Fi, the signal may be lost. In that case, we recommend collecting a Boost of Sonos, which connects directly to the router and creates a dedicated network for its Sonos speakers, which used to refer as a Sonosnet network.
The sounds basically increase the new version of the bridge, and must maintain that connection running without problems. If your budget does not extend to the impulse, you can connect any of your sound speakers to your router using Ethernet to give your system a communication impulse.
That said, Sonos is moving away from Sonosnet’s configurations; The newest speakers, such as Era 100 and were 300 of Sonos, will not join their Sonosnet network. This is because Sonos sees modern Wi-Fi solutions in the home, such as mesh systems, fixing bandwidth problems that existed previously.

IPhone users, AirPlay is your friend

Be sure to press ‘apply’ when you have finished grouping.
Create pre -established groups

To do this, touch the configuration in the upper right corner of the application and touch ‘manage’ next to your system. From here, you must select ‘Group’ on the menu and ‘create group’ to select your preset group.
Or simply transmit from Spotify or Tidal
AirPlay 2 allows you to transmit from the iOS control panel, but can also transmit from other third -party applications. Spotify and Tidal offer this feature.
In the Spotify application, press the Available devices Button in the reproduction section now to select your Sonos speakers. In Tidal, touch the Cast Button and choose the rooms where you want you to play.

But to do so, you must buy a Port of Sonos and link it to an existing stereo or receiver, or an amplifier they are if you want to connect individual speakers.

Now you do. Keep in mind that, if you are playing music through several speakers, you will only silence the one you have pressed.
Create a stereo or envelope sound configuration
If you have a couple of the Sonos speakers, you can create a stereo configuration to divide the audio into left and right channels.
For the majority, the obvious option is to choose a speaker ‘cheaper’, such as Eas 100 or Symfonisk shelf speakers, but can basically match any identical speaker for the task.
The tastes of the work: 3, play: 5 and five speakers can sit vertically or horizontally, and you will want to make sure they are oriented in the same way.
Then enter the Sonos application and play the COG configuration In the upper right corner. Select one of the speakers you want to match and select Configure the stereo pair.
Do you want the complete surround sound configuration? For this, you will need to connect Abeam, Arc, Arc Ultra, Ray, Playbar or Playbase with a pair of Sonos shelving speakers.
You can also do it if you are using an amplifier / port to feed two speakers that are not of non-sonos. Enter Settings As indicated above, but this time you need to select the room in which the speakers are and hit Bear configuration.

Use sleep characteristics
Do you know that feeling when you are in public, you listen to another person’s phone, recognize it as its morning alarm sound and suddenly hit you with a jolt of anger? Yes, we too. So why not try something new? Sonos has a great alarm feature.
In the Sonos application, go to COG configuration and touch ‘Manage‘Next to your system. Move down to Alarmhit Add alarm. You can choose your song to awaken, the rooms where you want to repeat, the volume, the duration of the repetition and how frequent you want it to be. … And the alarm
In addition to the alarm function, there is a sleep timer that will automatically turn off your music after a specific time, perfect if you like to fall asleep listening to music or podcasts. To enable this, touch the three -point section from the Now playing screen and touch Sleep timer.
Let Alexa or the Google assistant listen

Get a clearer audio … in the ultra arch
This is especially for the Sonos Arc Ultra, which is the company’s flagship sound bar. We have some specific tips in a separate feature, but one of the best is to adjust the level of the speech improvement function for a lighter audio. You must enter the arc ultra system configuration, but once you are there, you can choose between low, medium and high. If you get stuck, we have a separate way of how to appear in changing the level of speech improvement.

Previously, if you had, say, an echo place in your room along with an era of sound 100 and wanted to listen to some music, you would have to say something like, “Alexa, plays Spin Doctors, in the bedroom.”
Now you can get rid of that little more, and simply say, “Alexa, plays Spin Doctors” with the exit directly from the Sonos speaker. To do this, you only need to group the Sonos speaker at a device in the Alexa application and establish it as the preferred device.
Sonos Radio is not intended to replace Tunein’s tastes, but to streamline the radio healing process and open new listening opportunities.
In addition to the more than 60,000 radio stations that the new platform can navigate, there are pre -established stations: R&B Collective, Blues Masters, Rock Road Trip, and the like, as well as the response of Sonos to the Beats Radio System: Sonos Sound of Apple, described as a “signing advertisement station, cured and housed by the Sonos team.
Use Alexa / Ga and Siri together
You can use Siri with Sonos but, as with the Homepod, the assistant is very locked up with Apple’s services. So, if it is an Apple Music subscriber, Apple Podcast user, or has a decent iTunes catalog, Siri can control their reproduction; Otherwise, Alexa or Google assistant must use.
That said, did you know that these two attendees can work together? If you start playing music with Alexa, you can use Siri to pause/play, omit the track and rewind, even if you are playing from Spotify, Tidal or other third -party service.
This works if you are talking to Siri in Homepod, which can connect to other sound speakers through AirPlay 2. Ah, and this works vice versa: if you have a homepod connected to the group and ask Alexa in Sonos One to jump the track, he will also do it in the Homepod.
Nice when everyone simply gets along, huh?

Vinyl has returned, and Sonos users do not have to stay out. The Move 2, was 300, Five and Play: 5 have a line line, so it can directly connect the rotating audio that way.

You can also reproduce Apple Music space audio through the Era 300 of Sonos, Sonos Arc and Arc Ultra too.
Make the update jump
Not so much advice, but a warning; All these above tips are based on the application and the Sonos S2 system.
It is possible that you have already updated your Sonos system, but, if you have not done, you must take into account that you must make a great decision.
In May 2020, Sonos stopped updating ‘inherited products’. This list includes original zone players, Connect and Connect: AMP, the first generation game: 5, the CR200 and the Sonos bridge.
As such, users must choose between S1 (old) and S2 systems (new).
