Is Apple working on the iPhone 17e? This is what we know so far
Earlier this year, Apple launched the iPhone 16e. Although he was the successor to the iPhone SE in many ways, the naming scheme changes slightly compared to the iPhone SE. Many people wonder as this has become part of the mainline iPhone lineup. Is this a yearly refreshment? Today we’re reshaping the rumors.
iPhone 17e: Annual update?
According to Weibo’s Leaker Instant Digital, Apple is already preparing to try out the iPhone 17e, suggesting it is almost certainly on the way.
The setup of the 17E production line is planned. This answers the question: next year we have 17E and now we are almost in the test production stage.
It is unclear what will change with the iPhone 17e. Dynamic Island certainly would be a welcome upgrade. It is also possible that the A19 chipset will be adopted in future iPhone 17 models. There is also the possibility that C2 modems will debut, but that’s just a personal guess.
In any case, unlike the iPhone SE that came before it, it seems very plausible that it will become the annual refreshment.
Reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the iPhone 17E to be released in the first half of 2026.
Beyond the iPhone 17e
Earlier this month, information reported that Apple will move to a launch strategy for the Split iPhone with the fall of 2026 with the folding launch of the iPhone 18 Air, Pro, Pro Max and Spring 2027 iPhone 18 and 18e.
The details themselves do not confirm annual updates for the “E” iPhone, but at least it shows that the new entry-level iPhone will be released more regularly than the iPhone SE models released in 2016, 2020 and 2022, with an average refresh cycle of 3 years.
summary
Overall, it’s certainly too early to say. But I’m leaning towards the answer.
I personally hope that Apple will diversify their products a little. With an entry-level iPhone at $599, I think it could really be cool if you saw the iPhone Mini Renaissance. It could potentially start at $499, making it a much more attractive purchase than the $699 iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 13 Mini. But it’s more of a dream.
What do you think about the iPhone 16E and the possibility of a more regular “E” iPhone release? Please let us know in the comments.
