What to expect from Apple’s new iPad model soon
This month, Apple plans to unveil its new iPad Mini for the first time in three years. The keynote speech is likely to be held later this month, with the iPad Mini scheduled to be released on November 1st.
The iPad Mini last received its refresh in September 2021, marking its biggest redesign since the introduction of the iPad Mini in 2012. The 6th generation model has switched to USB-C and introduced a flat-side design with support for the Apple Pencil 2.
Latest iPad improvements
As it is the oldest iPad in the lineup, the iPad Mini lacks certain features of the new iPad, such as landscape front facing cameras and support for the Apple Pencil Pro. The iPad Mini is much more likely to be used in portrait orientation, so it’s possible that you won’t be able to move the camera, but it’s very likely that you’ll see both of these features in the seventh generation refresh. However, support for the Apple Pencil Pro may be granted.
Better specifications
It may also appear on the iPad Mini Jump To The Rigt Generation A18 chipset. This will make Apple Intelligence the smallest iPad for the first time. This means you can use new Siri, Genmoji, Image Playground and more on your new iPad. However, it doesn’t have everything when booting.
Plus, the iPad Mini 7 could start with 128GB of storage, just like the new iPad Air. This is up from the current model’s 64GB. It could also start at the same starting price of $499 as the current model.
Improved display
The iPad Mini 6 also faces the issue of displays known as “Jelly Scrolling,” and some users have found that half of the display updates faster than the other half, resulting in an inconsistent scrolling experience. Unconfirmed, some rumors point out that Apple will fix this issue with next-gen models.
Stage manager?
Apple has introduced all new windowing systems called Stage Manager for iPads 16. This initially required a new one on the M1 chip or a new feature set. After some backlash, Apple added support to the A12X and A12Z iPad Pro, but these iPads did not support external displays. However, since the first move in 2022, this feature has not yet expanded to other A-Series iPads.
You may see a stage manager coming to the new iPad Mini. Given the fact that the A18 chip is better than Geekbench’s M1 chip and is miles ahead of the A12X and A12Z chips that currently support features, it’s no doubt able to handle the feature set. It’s mostly a matter of whether Apple wants this feature to run on a small display.
One of my colleagues, Filipe, introduced what stage managers look like on the iPad Mini. Personally, I think it is available and Apple needs to add features to users who want it.

summary
Overall, the iPad Mini Refresh is very small, but it’s important. As an iPad Mini fan, I look forward to seeing the new version of the Apple Intelligence tablet.
