Does the alleged iPhone 17 Pro leak show a second camera control?
Yesterday, I learned about three new potential iPhone 17 Pro camera features. Today, the test units may have been found in the wild, and it is possible that we will first get a glimpse into one of the features of these rumors.
Frankly, I was a bit skeptical of the Macrumors Tipster, who anonymously claims that the iPhone 17 Pro has three hardware and software camera features that have not yet been leaked or rumored. However, since its release, I’m far more sure their tips are legal (and I’m generally very skeptical of everything).
Maybe I’m just digging into my beliefs now, but I can’t help but see the second camera control of the rumor mentioned yesterday on the allegations of today’s iPhone 17 Pro leak.

The degree of uncertainty is accumulated on this, but several things are summed up. First, yesterday’s rumors are based on the production of ProA ads for the iPhone 17. In particular, two types of camera controls were shown near the top edge of the device. Secondly, if this is some kind of capacitive touch scroll surface, the placement makes sense. You can use the main camera control under the right index finger and this new addition under the left index finger to hold your iPhone in landscape orientation.
but why? Perhaps Apple has heard feedback that the features of the swipe surface really complicate the current camera control buttons and it helps to move those features to another hardware. Another idea is that Apple can connect the zoom to the left button without switching modes with the right button.
Or maybe it’s all fake! We’ll check it in about 6 weeks. Apple usually announces a new iPhone in early September. What do you think? The glare of the sun? antenna? Are creative people chasing attention? Or is this actually the first look of the new hardware features Apple announced in September?
Here is a SourceX post to see everything in context.
