Resignation attempted to get Barack Obama for the role he ultimately went to Keene Reeves
Severance’s hit second season continues to set Apple TV+ record numbers, and as part of an ongoing marketing blitz, Ben Stiller was at Jimmy Kimmel last night. During his appearances, he revealed that the role of retired guest in the premiere of season 2 was originally offered to former President Barack Obama.
Ben Stiller emailed President Obama about the vocalization of Lemon’s building and got a response
The premiere of Retirement Season 2 will feature a stop motion Rumon propaganda video containing the talking Lumon building.
It has been previously revealed that Keanu Reeves is the voice of an animated building.
But thanks to Ben Stiller, we know that one person was asked before Reeves.
Who was it?
President Barack Obama.
Stiller spoke about how he emailed the former president through his lawyers and got a personal response.
President Barack Obama said, “Hey Ben, a huge fan of the show. I love season 1, I can’t wait for season 2. Don’t think there’s time to schedule to make this happen.”
That would have been pretty good at resigning to land President Obama for that part, no matter how small it was.
As Stiller mentions, he probably had something more important than expressing an animated Lumon building.
You can watch the complete video below.
President Obama will be cleaning up his cameo time in Season 3, which is currently working on.
At least it’s fun to think he’s coordinated like everyone else in us.
Did you know that Keanu Reeves has announced the Lumon building? Who else would you be surprised and hoped to pop up to quit? Please let us know in the comments.
Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 a month and features television shows and movies such as Ted Lasso, Severance, Morning Show, Silos and Shrinks.
