The iPhone 17 Pro case shows how big the new camera bar will be
Sonny Dickson shares two clear cases of real-world photos of the iPhone 17 Pro series scheduled for this fall. We have been hoping that the bumps on the rear camera would expand across the width of the phone. These cases show how the camera bar is the size of the mountain.
Apple is expected to use this camera bar design similar to the Google Pixel phone on three models in September: the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the rumored Thinner iPhone 17 Air.
For the Pro model, one theory that came to social media by @Mia_Kacurage is that an almost edge-to-edge camera bar is needed to accommodate more capable telephoto cameras.

Rendering and theory suggest that a large telephoto lens must be rotated and the lidar sensor must be repositioned to accommodate a 48-megapixel 10x optical zoom camera.
This fall, we will have to wait for the iPhone 17 Pro teardown this fall.

In the meantime, these suspicious iPhone 17 Pro cases via @sonnydickson have a lot to bite…and give us much less case coverage. If the camera bumps are large, it will sneak up on Magsaf’s territory.
At this rate, people should start buying cases for the case, considering that almost a third of the rear iPhone’s surface area is still exposed.
