Lara & Hank
With a small smile on his lips, Hank sauntered over to the diner. From the way she’d looked, with her tousled hair and oversized T-shirt that showed the inviting shape of her figure, he assumed she’d just gotten up. He wouldn’t mind waking up to that sight, as unlikely as it was to happen.
Lara hands went to her burning cheeks. She was was definitely out of practice if a single look could inflame her like that. She watched the cowboy amble over to the diner and disappear from view. Where was she going to eat breakfast now? Just the thought of running into him after he’d caught her looking started her heart started beating faster. Her stomach had a small knot. Funny, she used to appreciate the occasional flirtation. But in her current situation, it was definitely too much excitement. Her nerves couldn’t take it. She brushed the hair out of her face. The contents of the letter, the unfamiliar ranch, the new surroundings, it was all quite a bit without adding a handsome cowboy to the mix.

Wow. Lara was quite glad she was already seated. A ranch — no, wait—half a ranch in the Rockies. She frowned. How did she end up with half a ranch in the Rockies? Despite the many questions that revolved in her brain, she couldn’t help but notice how, for the first time since her father’s death, her heart felt a little lighter. A tingle spread inside at the thought she might soon embark on an adventure. She turned her attention back to the letter.
On the back you’ll find the address of the ranch. Check in with George Wilkinson when you get there. He’ll explain everything else to you.
Spread your wings and enjoy life to the fullest my little, big butterfly.
I love you. Your dad.
