Apple today released the official trailer for the long-awaited second season of its hit drama series Severance, ahead of its January 17th premiere on Apple TV+.

Based on the short snippets of scenes we know, it looks like the second season will pick up right after the climate change of the season 1 finale. Season 1 aired over 1000 days ago, so if you can’t remember what happened in season 1, now’s the time to catch up…

Due to a combination of industry strikes, reshoots, and infighting among the executive producers, there was a three-year wait between seasons. During that time, the show received high praise from critics and viewers alike, with the season 1 finale scoring one of the highest single-episode ratings on IMDB.

Severance Season 2 will be released weekly, with the first episode released on Friday, January 17th. After that, new episodes will be released every Friday. While Season 1 consisted of nine episodes, Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes before the season finale airs on March 21st. The show is expected to be renewed for season 3, although it has not been officially confirmed yet.
