The large 24.2 megapixel APS-C sensor captures every detail, even in high contrast and low light conditions.

Get accurate skin tones and colors, plus digital noise reduction thanks to the DIGIC 7 processor.

Capture the mood in any situation with a camera sensitive enough to use ambient light alone. When using the optical viewfinder of the Canon EOS 800D camera, the 45-point cross AF provides great sensitivity even in low light, and fast-moving objects are always sharp.

When shooting photos or movies in Live View, Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology focuses in just 0.03 seconds* to ensure maximum clarity of moving subjects within the frame. The focus is fast and accurate for shooting and allows you to create smooth transitions during video shooting.

*Among the digital cameras with interchangeable lenses and APS-C type sensor, updated in February 2017, based on Canon research. Measured according to CIPA guidelines, an internal measurement method, with an EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens mounted and using One-Shot and Live View AF modes.

The optical viewfinder gives you a clear view of the scene, ensuring accurate and real-time composition through the camera lens.

To compose the scene shoot photos and movies from below or above using the Canon EOS 800D’s swivelling touch screen display. Focus and shoot with one touch.

The guided interface shows how camera settings work and allows you to capture beautiful photos every time. Experiment with different shutter speeds and learn how to use depth of field more creatively. Finally, when you feel ready, turn off the guide to wake it up only if you need it.

Easy to make movies

Shoot events with high-quality Full HD movies that look great. The built-in 5-axis image stabilizer eliminates camera movement during freehand shooting to ensure smooth footage with any lens.

Keep your subjects in focus with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. Change the focus area with a single tap on the touch screen display, or select an object to keep it in focus even when moving.

Use manual controls to get the cinematic look you really want. Experiment with depth of field and use Photo Style to change the color, contrast and tone of your movies.

Preserve detail in the brightest and darkest areas of the scene with HDR footage.

Shoot at high frame rate, up to 60 frames per second, to better capture the fluidity of motion and experiment with slow playback to reveal new details of faster movements.

Easy wireless sharing and control

Always-on, low-power Bluetooth ensures a simple Wi-Fi connection to smartphones and tablets without touching the camera.

NFC technology ensures instant Wi-Fi connection to a compatible Android device or Canon Connect Station with a simple tap between devices.

Once the connection is established, you can transfer images to your computer or smart device for social network sharing.

To manage the EOS 800D remotely, you can use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control via Wi-Fi connection. Remote Live View function allows you to observe the camera view on your phone or tablet screen.
