Paper production is a long tradition for the Meurthe Valley, since the creation of the first paper mills in the 16th century. It is in this convenient environment that Papeteries de Clairefontaine began production in 1858. Taking advantage of the rags supplied by the local textile industry, Clairefontaine will become one of the most important factories in the region in a few years. To complete its offer, the company will begin manufacturing envelopes in 1880 and then follow those of laptops.

Self-taught artist, Isabelle Bouteillet has been an art gallery director for many years. She has developed a technique of illustrative and abstract collages.
