Engineered with a waterproof membrane, the Akita offers complete waterproof performance and exceptional breathability; step confidently and comfortably through wet and muddy terrain as the waterproof membrane allows water vapour to escape without letting water droplets in. As well as waterproof protection, these Merrell Walking Boots feature 200 grams of lightweight, low-volume insulation that helps to keep you feeling comfortable on the trail in cooler temperatures. This insulation works alongside a fleece collar that feels soft against the skin. A gusseted tongue keeps out debris for ensured comfort whilst the traditional lace closure system provides a secure fit locking the foot into the shoe and anchoring to the midsole to reduce in-shoe slippage for quick descents and sharp turns. The Akita Boots also feature a gaiter D-ring that allows you to easily attach a gaiter for additional protection from the debris on the trail.
