The Atoll from Silence Corner is a welcome solution if you shoot frequently in horizontal and vertical formats. The Atoll is a rotating collar that attaches to your camera body, allowing you to quickly rotate the camera from portrait to landscape. This is common for landscape photographers, real estate photographers, studio portrait photographers, and content creators who also need to film in vertical and horizontal formats. Unlike a traditional L mount, the atoll does not need to be removed from the tripod head to change orientation. Simply release the locking button and rotate the camera. Switching from portrait to landscape mode is super quick and easy. Another advantage over conventional L mounts is that the Atoll does not interfere with cameras that have fully articulated screens. Displays can be moved and positioned without compromise. At 180 degree positioning, the atoll can be used under the tripod when reversed, for low angle or macro shooting. The atoll has tactile indicators at 0°, 90°, and 180° to ensure your alignment is maintained. Since the camera is mounted with the sensor in the middle of the atoll, the centre of your image is retained. This is especially useful when compiling your image. The ring is attached to the camera via the 1/4 inch tripod mount and does not touch the lens. This allows you to quickly and easily change the lenses while it is mounted. The Atoll is made of aircraft grade aluminum alloy and is durable yet remarkably lightweight. The Atoll’s mounting base is Arca-Swiss compatible, offering wide compatibility with most tripod heads and clamps on the market. The second plate under the camera is also compatible with Arca-Swiss and also compatible with various capture clip accessories
