Main Features
24-600mm F2.4-4 Wide Aperture Optical Zoom Lens
This 25x optical zoom lens offers a remarkable focal range of 24 – 600 mm14, from extra wide angle to ultra-telephoto and macro capability, as well as AA (advanced aspherical) and ED (very low dispersion) glass lenses, and a large F2.4 – 4 aperture. Thanks to these elements, the camera has high optical performance to achieve high resolution and sublime bokehs.
Exmor RS CMOS sensor for speed
The camera has 315 phase-detection AF points with focal plane, allowing it to combine speed and precision in autofocus and subject tracking. In addition, the 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor with 20.1 megapixels (effective) and DRAM chip enables super slow motion15 up to 960 fps16 and an ultra-fast anti-distortion shutter of up to 1/32,000 sec.
Ultra-fast Bionz X image processing engine
Ensuring much faster image processing than its predecessor, the new Bionz X engine is remarkably reliable for fast moving subjects and continuous shooting at up to 24 frames/s. Its newly developed image processing algorithm allows you to shoot high-quality images that feature less noise across the entire sensitivity range while maintaining natural detail.
Extensive and dense coverage thanks to 315 AF points
The world’s most numerous focal plane phase detection autofocus points (315) cover approx. 65% of the entire image area of the new RX10 IV sensor. This allows for AF coverage that is dense and wide enough to quickly capture small subjects or subjects that are moving quickly and difficult to focus on across the entire image area. The fast hybrid autofocus: A new course
Newly introduced in the RX10 series of cameras, the fast hybrid autofocus is capable of flash focus in 0.03s. This revolutionary AF system effortlessly integrates the speed and tracking of phase-detection focal plane AF along with the precision of contrast detection autofocus. It increases the camera’s capabilities when it comes to focusing on a subject, tracking it, and shooting crisp, clear still images even during the most hectic action scenes.
High Density Tracking AF System
The RX10 IV features highly reliable tracking performance as it is the first Cyber-shot camera with high-density AF tracking technology that activates AF points to cover the area around the subject with remarkable accuracy and stability. Super slow motion up to 40x slower than natural motion
The stacked CMOS sensor allows shooting at a very high refresh rate of up to 960fps (40x slower than natural motion) for longer maximum durations (up to 4 seconds in Quality Priority mode and up to 7 seconds in Shooting Time Priority mode), including ultra-telephoto lenses. As a result, you can achieve exceptionally sharp and smooth close-ups in super slow motion even when the action is far away.
4K video recording / XAVC S format
The RX10 IV is capable of collecting about 1.7 times more data than 4K video recordings require. Full pixel reading without loss reduces moiré effects and shaking. Frontal large-scale integration reduces the roll shutter effect created by fast movements. XAVC S support allows you to record high quality 4K and Full HD movies by limiting compression noise to a maximum bit rate of 100Mbps and 50Mbps.
