Demand for iPhones at US Apple stores will increase as customers fear price hikes
There’s a lot going on around the world today as President Trump announced tariffs on imports from other countries last week. Fearing potential price increases, many customers are gathering in Apple stores to buy new iPhones and other products before they become more expensive.

Employees from various Apple stores across the US said Bloomberg On Monday, they showed that demand for products, especially the iPhone, was on the rise. According to these employees, many customers have asked about price increases due to the new tariffs announced by Trump.
“Almost every customer asked me if prices would rise anytime soon,” an Apple employee said. “People are just worried and asking questions,” another employee said.
Sources familiar with the issue say Apple has not provided guidance to retail employees on how to answer these questions or address higher demand. Other employees are comparing current demand to the line when they have a new iPhone or during the holiday season. There are also reports this week about Reddit and other social networks on customers buying new Macs for fear of new tariffs.
The US government will tax products from China and India at 34% and 26%, respectively. Apple assembles most of its products in these two countries. Trump claims that new tariffs are “mutual” for what they already charge for products imported from the United States.
Apple won’t say what will happen next, but reports this morning revealed that Apple flew five planes full of Indian and Chinese products in just a few days. In this way, the company has enough stock to keep its products at its current prices for a long time.
According to another report, Apple claims it is considering expanding its Brazilian facilities in partnership with Foxconn, as the country was taxed at 10% by Trump, less than China and India. Apple’s shares have already fallen more than 18% since it was announced last week, and the same has happened to other US companies.
